The British and Irish Portable Battery Association represents major producers and manufacturers of portable consumer batteries in the UK and Ireland.
Through the Association, members work to promote and enhance the sustainable and safe use of portable batteries that power the many electronic devices on which consumers rely across the UK and Ireland. To achieve this, we work with relevant Government Departments such as the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; agencies such as the Office for Product and Safety Standards, and the Environment Agency; organisations such as the Child Accident Prevention Trust, and the British Standards Institution; as well as other trade associations and organisations that share or contribute to the delivery of our goals.
We are an active member of the Joint Trade Association, a grouping of leading electrotechnical trade associations and producer compliance schemes.
